02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
GIGA fully provides for the educational and social needs at Lighthill school. School fees generally meet costs of employing teachers which include salaries and meals. This continues to be challenging in view of the poverty in the area and other cultural factors which mean parents frequently withdraw their children from education. The charity also continues to buy equipment for the clinic.

Constitutional objectives
The objectives of GIGA are: (a) the prevention or relief of poverty. (b) the advancement of education. (c) the advancement of religion. and (d) the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. These objectives will be met primarily by supporting the God is Good Nursery, School and Orphanage in Kitale, Kampala, Uganda, and other similar educational and charitable purposes in Uganda and neighbouring states
