What the charity exists to do

The organisation is a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objective is to advance the education of children, young people and adults by providing opportunities to engage in the study, practice and teaching of community sports and community learning which develops their spiritual, mental and physical capacities and enable them to improve their conditions of life.

Constitutional objectives

The Organisation is a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objective is to: Advance the education of children, young people and adults by providing opportunities to engage in the study, practice and teaching of community sports and community learning which develops their spiritual, mental and physical capacities and enable them to improve their conditions of life. To support the advancement of public participation in sport at McKane Park and the surrounding area through the promotion, alone or in conjunction with others, of participation in sport and acting as advisors in relation to the development of the established sport's club as well as other sporting activities. To provide or access recreational facilities and organize recreational activities within the operating area, with such facilities/ activities being made available to members of the public at large with the object of providing opportunity. To support citizenship, community development and community learning through the power of participation in physical activity, whilst working in partnership with members of and stakeholders in local communities, to empower individuals to improve their lives and their environment. All programmes, projects and initiatives delivered by the organization will contribute to four key outcomes are areas of focus: raising the prospect of access to sporting opportunities, support the creation of pathways in an effort to allow individuals to realise their full potential, contribute to building healthier lifestyles and bringing communities together. To support, where appropriate, disadvantaged or underprivileged children, young people or adults to participate in community sport and community learning opportunities which foster and develop a community spirit. To do all lawful things which are deemed to further the objectives of the group.
