Constitutional objectives
The SCIO will promote, advance and further its charitable purposes by operating as a 'grant giving' charity which will support financially and otherwise charities, community groups and others (such beneficiaries principally but not limited to be found in Scotland) which charitably further the purposes detailed at 7.2 and provide public benefit with a primary (but not exclusive) focus on (a) the provision of education for children, young people and adults from low income backgrounds, (b) the support of organisations which help children, young people and their families deal with a wide range of health related issues and (c) provision of sport, leisure and wellbeing programs that work with children and young people from low socio-economic backgrounds. 7.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are (i) particularly relevant and (ii) are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 7.2.1 the advancement of education. 7.2.2 the advancement of health. 7.2.3 the advancement of public participation in sport. and 7.2.4 the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
