02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Stonehaven and District Men's Shed provides a warm, welcoming and friendly place for men to meet socially and pass their time constructively. We have an induction procedure for new members. Shed Safety Supervisors operate in accordance with our Operations Manual and safety management system. We have a Board of Trustees who meet every 6 weeks to manage our ongoing activities, with a Chairman, Vice Chairmn, Secretary and Treasurer. We are involved in community projects for the benefit of local schools, hospital, care homes and the town in particular. We have developed facilities and workshops over the years and have members willingly able to carry out community related work, whilst aware that we do not compete with local business. We are in receipt of the Kings Award for voluntary service to the community.
