02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Boys’ Brigade exists to give children and young people a safe, welcoming space to learn, grow, and experience life to the full. We achieve this by partnering directly with local churches and community groups to host regular, age-appropriate sessions for young people aged 5 to 18. Our approach focuses on four key areas: Balanced Activity Programmes: We offer a mix of physical activities, creative projects, life-skills training, and outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, and team sports. Positive Mentoring: Dedicated, trained volunteer leaders provide guidance, positive role models, and encouragement every step of the way. Structured Recognition: Through our badge and awards scheme, young people set goals, tackle new challenges, and celebrate their personal achievements.

Constitutional objectives
The aims of the Company shall be: 1. to promote the Object of The Boys' Brigade which is 'The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness.' 2. to develop, through a series of suitable programmes of activities and instruction, the abilities of the Boy in a progressive manner appropriate to his age and capabilities. 3. to encourage leadership qualities.
