02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Haddo Arts’ aim is to build on the rich musical & artistic heritage of Haddo House through organising arts events at Haddo, celebrating the best of local, national, international arts, and to entertain & educate the public by providing access to/encouraging participation in the arts. Our annual mixed arts events programme at Haddo, primarily focuses on classical, jazz, traditional & contemporary music but also includes visual arts, spoken word, literature, dance & drama in venues at Haddo and elsewhere. provide opportunities for young & emerging Scottish artists to perform & work with established artists & for schoolchildren to engage with music in the company of professional performers. work with other Haddo partners, (National Trust for Scotland, Haddo Estate and Aberdeenshire Council) to establish arts events as a key element of life at Haddo. seek & develop partnerships with local & national bodies eg University of Aberdeen, RSNO, Gray's School of Art, Scottish Opera, NESMS.

Constitutional objectives
5.1 For the purposes of benefitting the public and in particular but without prejudice to the generality of that purpose through the organisation of an annual festival or festivals and/or other artistic events at Haddo House, or other locations further afield, celebrating the best of local, national and/or international arts in an integrated arts programme. 5.2 To entertain and educate the public by providing access to the arts and by encouraging their participation in events organised by the 5CI0 and other similar events. 5.3 To maintain the heritage of the performing arts at Haddo House
