02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Foundation is a community-based initiative aimed at helping individuals and families who find themselves in need of support due to serious illness, poverty or other life-changing events. The Foundation is also keen to assist children of affected families in such circumstances and to ensure their education is allowed to continue in as normal a way as is reasonably possible. Although supporting individuals within the local community is the main focus of the charity, support is also made available to other Charitable Organisations in the local area which have similar aims to the Foundation.

Constitutional objectives
The purpose of the Charity is to assist individuals and families in the Clydebank and Duntocher area but not restricted thereto, for the following purposes:- a) To assist families and individuals affected by life changing or terminal illness resulting in financial difficulty, deterioration in quality of life or any other matter material to them. b) To assist children of families affected by life changing or terminal illness who are deemed to have been disadvantaged in the educational opportunities available to them as a result. c) To assist Charitable Organisations in the Clydebank and Duntocher area which have similar aims to the Duntocher Charitable Foundation. d) To assist individuals and families in the Clydebank and Duntocher area, but not restricted thereto, who are, by reason of altered or adverse circumstances, financially or emotionally disadvantaged, at the sole discretion of the Executive Committee.
