02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Rogart Development Trust is set up to benefit the community of Rogart. Within the past year there have been many events held at the Mart including quarterly markets, swish sales, musical events, a meeting venue, and a local wedding took place. We have provided a social meeting space with seating, continued the upkeep of the walk round Rogart path and are currently working on a community orchard project with another community project in the pipeline for next year.

The SCIO's purposes are to benefit the community of Rogart, which comprises the Community Council Area of Rogart as shown on the map attached to the Highland Council's Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils, a copy of which is attached hereto ('the Community') with the following objects: 4.1 The advancement of community development (including the advancement of rural regeneration) within the Community. But only to the extent that the above purposes are consistent with achieving sustainable development.
