Constitutional objectives

The Company has been formed to benefit the Community of Gifford as defined by the voting area of Gifford Community Council, which includes, inter alia the postcodes: EH41 4EY, EH41 4JA, EH41 4JB, EH41 4JD, EH41 4JE, EH41 4JF, EH41 4JG, EH41 4JL, EH41 4JQ EH41 4JN, EH41 4JW, EH41 4PG, EH41 4PH, EH41 4PJ EH41 4PL, EH41 4PQ, EH41 4RA, EH41 4EB, EH41 4QH, EH41 4QJ EH41 4QL, EH41 4QN, EH41 4QP, EH41 4QQ, EH41 4QR, EH41 4QS, EH41 4QT, EH41 4QU, EH41 4QW, EH41 4QX, EH41 4QY, EH41 4QZ, EH41 4RB, ('the Community'), with the Purposes listed in the sub-articles hereto ('the Purposes'), to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs), namely: 4.1 The company's main purpose is consistent with furthering the achievement of sustainable development. The company's purposes are: 4.2 To provide or advance the accessibility of recreational, facilities, and/or organising recreational activities, which will be available to members of the Community and public at large with the object of improving the conditions of life of the Community. 4.3 Advancement of citizenship or Community development, including rural or urban regeneration. 4.4 To advance the provisions for educational opportunities in the Community relating to environment, culture, heritage and/or history 4.5 To advance environmental protection or improvement including preservation, sustainable development and conservation of the natural environment, the maintenance, improvement or provision of environmental amenities for the Community and/or the preservation of buildings or sites of architectural, historic or other importance to the Community.
