02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Al-Bir exists to relieve poverty and improve the wellbeing of disadvantaged communities in rural areas (e.g. villages in Chad). We achieve this by raising donations from the public to fund clean water projects, provide food assistance, support education, and help families facing hardship. Our work focuses on delivering practical, sustainable aid that has a lasting impact on the communities we serve. We operate a 100% donation policy, ensuring that public donations are used for charitable purposes, and all of our trustees volunteer their time without payment.

Constitutional objectives
1.1 To provide access to clean water and food by: - Building water wells in rural areas of Chad and worldwide for public benefit - Providing food baskets to those who are in need 1.2 To advance education by establishing schools for children living in rural areas of Chad and worldwide 1.3 To advance access to health services by: - Establishing a health centre which is open to the public for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in rural areas - Providing medical supplies such as medications and medical equipment 1.4 To prevent and/or relieve poverty by the relief of financial need and suffering among victims of natural or other kinds of disaster in the form of money or other means deemed suitable for persons/bodies, organisations and/or countries affected. 1.5 The advancement of religion by building mosques for those who have no access to worship places in rural areas of Chad and worldwide.
