Constitutional objectives

7. The SCIO will promote, advance and further charitable purposes by operating as a 'grant giving' charity:- 7.1.1 which will primarily support financially and otherwise Scottish registered charities (for the purposes of the 2005 Act), but will be able to support community groups and others when deemed appropriate by the Charity Trustees. and 7.1.2 while the SCIO's activities are not to be limited geographically, the SCIO will primarily support beneficiaries in the Greater Glasgow area. and 7.1.3 operate and work to further the charitable purposes detailed at 7.2 and provide public benefit with a primary (but not exclusive) focus on the support of children and young people as well as older people so as to enhance opportunities and reduce barriers for those groups. 7.2 For the purposes of the 2005 Act the following charitable purposes are particularly relevant and for the purposes of the 2005 Act are the charitable purposes identified as applicable from section 7 of the 2005 Act:- 7.2.1 the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
