02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
SuperTroop is an Edinburgh-based charity that launched in 2017. We run an annual one-week residential summer holiday, hosted at Fettes College, for young people with disabilities. The focus of our organisation is not just on the children and young adults who attend our holiday schemes. We also aim to have an impact on three groups of individuals, including Families and friends of holiday makers, volunteers and members of the public. In order to achieve these goals, while meeting the highest standards in the care of and experience of holiday makers, our holidays are structured around a large and reliable volunteer body. The recruitment of our volunteers and their well-being while contributing to the scheme (and as they move on) is therefore paramount to our success and longevity.
