02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We are set up to advance citizenship and community development principally organising events and raising money for the benefit of the community of Kirkcolm to help maintain and improve the lives of those in the community. We work towards the advancement of environmental protection or improvement. We apply for funding all year to cover event and core costs, as well as raising money through holding community events.

Constitutional objectives

4.1 The provision or organisation of recreational facilities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. This could be by the provision for or organising of community events and the provision for local none profit clubs and groups. Community events such as an annual gala day would benefit clubs and groups by acting as a showcase to encourage new members. 4.2 The advancement of environmental protection or improvement by the provision of footpaths, cycle paths and nature observational facilities.
