02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Emmie Smillie Charity Foundation (ESCF) aims, goals and objectives focus on positively and proactively supporting, through financial donations, Cancer Charities, Palliative Care Hospices & Cancer Hospitals who provide care, support and medical treatment for all patients suffering cancer related illnesses or other life limiting condition, specifically in children and young people. To provide financial support in specific circumstances and conditions for medical treatment and specialist support and/or treatment and, ultimately in terminally ill cases the provision of the necessary professional palliative care as required to allow the patients to pass full supported and with dignity.

The organisation's purposes are: Assist families financially for the care and wellbeing of individuals with cancer and or life limiting conditions. The provision of financial funding for accommodation for care and respite for individuals with cancer and or life limiting conditions and their families. The financial funding for palliative care and comfort for individuals with cancer and or life limiting conditions and their families. The provision of financial funding and support for individuals with cancer and or life limiting conditions to facilitate special memorable events individually or collectively with their families. Any other financial funding and or support in relation to any cancer related situation or event as so desired, dictated, agreed or commissioned by the Trustees.
