02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Trust was founded by Will dated 9th June 1995 and registered in the Books of Council & Session 12th June 1996 granted by William Ronald Burnett otherwise known as William Ronald Barrington Burnett. The charity's purpose is for the advancement of education. The Trust provides bursaries for pupils to study at Robert Gordon's College, Aberdeen through the investment of funds thereby generating income for bursaries.

Constitutional objectives

(EIGHT) After the fulfilment of the foregoing Trust purposes I direct my Trustees to hold and apply the Residue of my Estate for such purposes as qualify for charitable exemption from inheritance tax or any similar replacement tax as my Executors after consultation with the Governors of Robert Gordon's College think are in the best interest of that, College and that this provision be identified with the names of myself and my brother Joseph Duthie Burnett.
