02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Glasgow Social Enterprise Network is a member-led organisation that is set up to provide support, promote, develop and represent social enterprises in Glasgow. We do this by providing opportunities for members to engage, share skills and resources, access peer support, training and workshops. We also promote our members work, events, news and support opportunities. In addition, we represent the views and needs of our members at local, regional and national levels. Through our MOU with Glasgow City Council we are the recognised conduit for engagement between the social enterprise sector and the public and private sectors in Glasgow.

Constitutional objectives
The company is set up with entirely charitable purposes and its objects are: 1. to advance community development, by promoting the Social Enterprise sector and the effectiveness and efficiency of organisations working within it, and to provide opportunities for social enterprises to grow their businesses, providing support to enterprising third sector organisations or individuals who are working to develop social enterprises and establishing trading opportunities for social enterprises. 2. to advance education by providing opportunities for social enterprises to learn how to run their businesses better including - but without limitation - by facilitating action learning and the exchange of information and working with education establishments and other stakeholders to advance the awareness of social enterprise development. and on the basis that the business of the company will be carried on for the benefit of the community within Greater Glasgow.
