02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We compete in all National and Regional Championships in Track and Field Athletics, Road Races and Cross-Country races. We provide competition in Scottish Leagues for children aged 9 to 16 years and UK National competition for our athletes aged 17 years to Veterans. The Club provides athletics coaching and competition to members of the community from age 8 upwards from our base at Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow this includes athletes with a disability. The Club provides coaching in Sprints, Endurance, Jumps and Throws on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings to athletes of all ages and abilities. In any week, over 450 children and adults will attend our training sessions in preparation for competition at local and national level. We were, once again, able to host our Summer Camps at Scotstoun Stadium for children from 5 to 12 years of age. The camps were held over 6 weeks of the school holidays and attracted an average of 80 children per day.

Constitutional objectives
The Club will operate as a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objectives are: 4.1 To promote and advance all disciplines of athletics as a competitive sport. 4.2 To provide recreational facilities, and to organise recreational activities, available to members of the public at large, with the object of improving the conditions of life.
