02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Health and Wellness Hub is set up to improve the health and wellbeing of people in our community, particularly those experiencing health inequalities, long-term health conditions, caring responsibilities, isolation or challenges affecting their wellbeing. We do this by providing accessible and affordable holistic therapies, wellbeing activities, gentle exercise, mindfulness and relaxation sessions, peer support and targeted wellbeing programmes. We also provide opportunities for people to build confidence, develop skills and become more involved in their community through volunteering and training. Alongside our charitable activities, we generate income through our social enterprise, including paid therapies, training and room hire. This helps us to sustain and develop our charitable services and ensures that people who may otherwise struggle to access support can benefit from our services.
