02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Boomerang Community Centre SCIO is a community-led charity working to reduce poverty, isolation and inequality in our local area. We provide a safe, welcoming space where people of all ages can access practical support, build relationships and improve their wellbeing. We do this through a range of accessible services and activities. These include our Community Larder, Cosy Café and Lunch Club, which offer affordable food and warm spaces, as well as wellbeing, social and creative activities that bring people together. Our Youth and Families programme supports children and young people through groups such as Stay & Play and youth clubs, helping them build confidence, skills and positive connections. Alongside this, we offer opportunities for volunteering, community involvement and partnership working, enabling people to contribute to and shape their community.
