02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Fife Young Carers exists to improve the lives of Young Carers and Young Adult Carers across Fife by ensuring they are recognised, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. The organisation works with children and young people who provide care for a family member affected by illness, disability, mental health challenges, addiction, or frailty. It achieves this by providing one-to-one support, information, advocacy, and assessments of Young Carers' needs. Fife Young Carers helps young people access education, training, employment, and wellbeing opportunities while reducing the negative impact that caring responsibilities can have on their lives. The organisation also delivers group activities, peer support, respite opportunities, and skills development programmes that build confidence, resilience, and social connections. In addition, it works closely with schools, health services, social work, and community partners to identify and support young carers early.

The advancement of education and health for the afore mentioned children and young people.
