02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The group hold regular meetings in the community hall, this gives a little income to the hall funds. Members of the group check the waiting room regularly, keep it clean and welcoming for visitors, with no cafe on the island, visitors appreciate the facility where they can have a warm drink, heat food in the microwave, relax with a lovely view, Plenty books in the bookcase, board games, etc. Quote from the visitors book, 'The best waiting room in Shetland'. Local crafts, postcards and other small items are on sale with an 'honesty box'. The waiting room provides a warm space for the over 60's group.
