Constitutional objectives

The purposes of the Trust are, for the benefit of the public in Scotland and elsewhere, for payment or application of the whole free income and if the Trustees think fit having regard to the specific nature of any project or proposal they have been asked to support, the capital of the Trust Fund from time to time in the Trustees' charge for any of the aftermentioned purposes, namely:- 1 .1 the prevention or relief of poverty. 1 .2 the advancement of education. 1.3 the advancement of health. 1.4 the saving of lives. 1.5 the advancement of citizenship or community development. 1.6 the advancement of the arts, heritage, culture or science. 1.7 the advancement of public participation in sport. 1.8 the provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. 1.9 the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation. 1.10 the promotion of racial harmony. 1.11 the promotion of equality and diversity. 1.12 the advancement of environmental protection or improvement. 1.13 the relief of those in . need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. 1.14 the advancement of animal welfare. and 1 .15 any other purpose that may reasonably regarded as analogous to any of the preceding purposes.
