02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
We are a fully volunteer led organisation committed to improving Whiting Bay and districts. Our work focuses on encouraging community participation, enhancing the natural and built environment, and providing opportunities for individuals to volunteer. Throughout the year we deliver a wide range of activities, including community events—some of which support our fundraising—and volunteer work parties that carry out beach cleaning, path maintenance, and litter picking. We manage and clean two public toilets, operate the village putting green, and maintain the community boat slip and jetty. We also produce and distribute a free walking leaflet and care for numerous flower tubs across the village. Our efforts are strengthened by collaboration with local organisations, charities, businesses, and visitors. However, the success of our work relies on the dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work of our members, whose efforts make it possible for us to fulfil our charitable purposes.
