02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Throughout the years since it’s inception, the Forfar & District Men’s Shed has undertaken many community projects including:- mud kitchens and friendship circle benches for several of the area Primary Schools, picnic tables for the area Dementia group, notice boards, refurbishing memorial benches for Angus Council. as well as hosting Angus Shed’s quarterly meetings, annual Christmas luncheons, our own Annual General Meetings and showing our wares at the Forfar Gala each year. Throughout 2025 and 2026 we have been busy with many community projects including picnic benches, a children's sensory unit, mud kitchen, sand box, work benches, tables and doors for the new Forfar Open Garden. We have also completed several projects for organizations, including: raised beds for the Deidre Knioght Centre, a children’s garden for the Forfar Early Learning Centre, benches for Forfar Baptist Church, stage cubes for’Spotlights’ Community Youth Theater, and various items for Strathmore Primary.
