02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The Confraternity organises Catholic pilgrimages in Scotland which incorporate traditional liturgy and devotions. our principal event each year is the Two Shrines Pilgrimage, which is a three-day walking pilgrimage from Edinburgh to St Andrews.

Constitutional objectives

The Confraternity's purposes are: to organise and promote pilgrimages which incorporate the Extraordinary Form the Mass and traditional devotions of the Catholic Church, as permitted by the Pope Benedict XVI's Apostolic Letter motu proprio Summorum Pontificum. to provide, through its activities, opportunities for its members to grow together in faith and Christian fellowship. to foster prayer and almsgiving in support of its aims and activities. and in pursuing the above aims, continually encourage devotion and adherence to the Catholic Church among the people of Scotland, thus promoting the re-conversion of Scotland to the Catholic Faith.
