02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

We continue to operate a full timetable of activities. This has become possible due to various grants and donations received over the year, and we now employ 6 members of staff. We provide: after-school activities, four days of the week, forty-eight weeks of the year, for 5 - 12 year olds. One day per week aimed at children who need support. - We now run a weekly lunch club for OAPs which is heavily attended by some of the most vulnerable members of our community. - We run a weekly volunteering/work experience scheme linked in with the local primary school. Two children come through , prepare and cook a meal and serve this to our lunch club. - weekly cooking sessions for vulnerable adults from a range of ethnic backgrounds - Parent and toddlers groups running weekly with creche facilities on the Thursdays for parents who wish to join the cooking sessions - A second cooking session where individuals from families come along to cook a meal so they can take away to feed their family.
