02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Our charity exists to improve lives and strengthen communities by removing barriers that prevent people from thriving. Inspired by Christian values of compassion, dignity and service, we support individuals and families facing disadvantage, isolation or limited access to opportunity. Our work is open to everyone. We do not restrict support based on belief, background or circumstance. We listen carefully to the people we serve and shape our services around what they say they need. We provide practical help alongside longer term support that builds confidence, skills and resilience. Our approach is both preventative and responsive, helping people move towards greater stability, independence and wellbeing. We work closely with local partners to maximise impact, avoid duplication and ensure support is joined up and sustainable. We are values led, outcomes focused and committed to using resources responsibly. By combining professional expertise, strong governance and deep community tru
