02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
6th Motherwell Scout Group exists to support the development of young people, helping them gain skills for life, build confidence, develop character, and become active members of their communities. We provide a safe and inclusive environment where young people can take part in a wide range of educational, recreational, outdoor and community activities. The Group delivers a balanced programme of Scouting for children and young people in the local area through regular meetings, camps, expeditions, outdoor learning, community projects, fundraising activities and skills-based challenges. Activities are led by trained volunteers and are designed to promote teamwork, leadership, responsibility, resilience and respect for others. We maintain and manage our Scout Hall and other resources to support the delivery of Scouting and to provide facilities that benefit our members and the wider community.
