02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity is set up to provide men with the opportunities and facilities to socialise to prevent social isolation. This comprises of workshops to create items, social area to play games such as pool, darts and table games and also crafts. The social area also provides a space to gather and have tea and coffee and breakfast breaks. We also run wellbeing events for our members. The workshops also enable the men to create items for the local community including community groups and raise funds to maintain the running of the Shed.

Constitutional objectives
4 The purpose of the organisation is to provide recreational facilities and advance the social needs, health and well being of men of all ages and backgrounds living in the Bridge of Don and surrounding areas By: a) Creating, developing and maintaining a facility, namely a Men?s Shed. b) Offering opportunities for men in the Bridge of Don area to meet and undertake creative, physical, purposeful and recreational activities of their choice. c) Reducing isolation of men in the area thus contributing to their physical and mental wellbeing. d) Developing the capacity of men in the Bridge of Don area to share their skills and knowledge with others in the community.
