02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Moray Fresh Start SCIO, in partnership with the Moray Council and local voluntary organisations, has the following objectives: 1. To relieve the poverty, suffering and distress of people who are in a condition of need, hardship or distress by providing, or assisting in the provision of, household goods with the aim of improving the conditions of life for those in Moray who have need of such facilities by virtue of their youth, age, infirmity, disability, handicap, poverty, homelessness, unemployment or social and economic circumstances. 2. To undertake such other charitable activities as may be helpful to the aforesaid persons. Moray Fresh Start’s main activity is the provision of Starter Packs to individuals or families in Moray who have been homeless to assist them at the start of their new tenancies, or if they are not homeless but are otherwise in need, through their relevant Support Worker.

Constitutional objectives

4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need by reason of hardship by providing basic household goods to primarily, but not exclusively the formerly homeless of Moray. 4.2 The advancement of education by increasing awareness of the experiences of the homeless by being involved in the giving of talks to various organisations and schools and also involved with the Youth Philanthropy Initiative Scotland.
