Constitutional objectives

3. Objects The objects of the Communities and Nature International are: (i) to promote sustainable development for the benefit of the public by: ? the conservation and the protection of the environment and the sustainable use of natural resources. ? the relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life in socially and economically disadvantaged communities. (ii) to advance the education of the public in subjects related to sustainable development and the protection and conservation of the environment and to promote study and research in such subjects, and disseminate the results to the wider public. Sustainable development means 'development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.' Throughout this Constitution 'charitable' means charitable in accordance with the law of England and Wales provided that it will not include any purpose which is not charitable in accordance with section 7 of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. For the avoidance of doubt, the system of law governing the constitution of the charity is the law of England and Wales.
