Constitutional objectives

7.1 The SCIO will promote, advance and further its charitable purposes by operating as a 'grant-giving' charity which will support financially and otherwise education in developing countries (initially, but not exclusively, Sierra Leone) by ordinarily but not exclusively providing grants to organisations working in such localities and carrying out activities such as teacher training and generally increasing access to education. The SCIO aims to widen educational access and participation, both for children and adults, to increase self-sufficiency through learning in order to increase an active and sustainable contribution to society and communities in such countries.
