02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Blythswood’s aim is to see people's lives being changed for good and forever as they are released from poverty, trauma and exploitation, and receive eternal life through the saving power of Jesus Christ. Donations are received from our generous supporters, in the form of cash, personal goods for sale in our charity shops and in kind, which are in turn used to support a range of projects and programmes in UK, Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. Blythswood's resources are used for: • the advancement of the Christian religion. • the relief of sickness and financial hardship and the promotion and preservation of good health. and • the promotion of education, particularly in the understanding of the Christian religion, by the printing, publishing, production and distribution of Christian literature and literacy materials. Blythswood's activities: • focus on the educational, practical and spiritual needs of the most vulnerable people. • are managed by capable local leadership

Constitutional objectives
The purposes for which the Charity was established as a legal entity are 2.1.1. the advancement of the Christian religion in Scotland and the world for the public benefit. and 2.1.2. the relief of sickness and financial hardship and the promotion and preservation of good health for the public benefit in any part of the world, by the provision of funds, goods or services of any kind. 2.1.3. the promotion of education for the public benefit, particularly in the understanding of the Christian religion , by the printing, publishing, production and distribution of Christian literature and literacy materials.
