02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The Susan Emery Trust is a Scottish charitable Trust which was founded in 2018 thanks to a generous legacy by Mrs Susan Emery. The purpose of the Susan Emery Trust is twofold: firstly, the advancement of education by primarily, though not exclusively, supporting the training of practitioners of psychoanalytical psychotherapy, and secondly, the advancement of health by facilitating and promoting research, conferences, and improved practice in the field of psychoanalytical psychotherapy. The Susan Emery Trust is managed by a Board of Trustees. Funding is allocated by an Awards Committee which reports to the Trustees. Constitutional objectives
Trust Purposes To pay or apply the whole free income and if the Trustees think fit, the capital of the Trust Fund from time to time in the Trustees' charge for any of the aftermentioned purposes, namely:- 1.1 the advancement of education by primarily, though not exclusively, supporting the training of practitioners of psychoanalytical psychotherapy. and 1.2 the advancement of health by facilitating and promoting research, conferences and improved practice in the field of psychoanalytical psychotherapy.
