02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Hamiltonhill Claypits Local Nature Reserve is a community greenspace in the heart of North Glasgow. Once a place of important industrial and social heritage, now has a focus on the future with the 6.7-hectare land that has many benefits for people, communities and wildlife. The HCLNR MG has a strong focus in connecting communities to encourage social involvement in growing a community asset – the Claypits LNR. We plan to develop a culture of partnerships with stakeholders, community, government, public, private and third sector interests through strategic management and meaningful collaborations. Additionally, we seek to promote healthy growth, development and support the community through the suggestions of ideas, events, activities and programmes. We will give consideration of the interests and learning needs of supportive and inclusive communities, diverse abilities, cultures, languages, age groups and interests. whilst staying attentive to the LNR core mission.
