Nairn Coastal Rowing Club

Constitutional objectives

The Club will operate as a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objective is: (a) To promote public participation in the amateur sport of Coastal Rowing. (b) The provision of recreational activities and/or facilities with a view to improving the conditions of life for those whom the activities/facilities are primarily intended. 3.1 In furtherance of the above the Club shall seek to: (a) build and use Coastal Rowing boats around the coast of Nairn and its environs. (b) stimulate healthy competition with other communities by means of races, regatta or other organised events. (c) promote Coastal Rowing as a healthy recreational activity which can be safely undertaken by people of all ages, abilities and levels of fitness which in addition provides opportunities to explore and enjoy nature and wildlife. (d) encourage its members to adopt and apply best practice in Health and Safety, Safety at Sea, Child Protection and to take personal responsibility for their application. (e) foster close relationships between the builders of boats and equipment with rowers, so that there is better understanding of skills and craftsmanship, design and materials. (f) encourage members to meet socially. (g) disseminate knowledge of Coastal Rowing. and (h) support other communities, clubs and members who wish to acquire/ build rowing boats.
