02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
SOHTIS vision is to see a Scotland free from human trafficking where everyone lives in freedom with dignity and respect. We do this by providing support, advocacy and therapy for victims and survivors and by using our expertise to raise awareness, influence policy and equip practitioners.

Constitutional objectives
4.1 The objects of the Company are:- (a) to raise awareness of human trafficking, to support and relieve the need of survivors of human trafficking, and secure the enhancement of human trafficking legislation in Scotland by: i. Hosting, organising, taking part in and otherwise supporting seminars, conferences and events to raise public awareness and raise funds. ii. Partnering and working with other charities, organisations, local authorities and other bodies to support and improve the lives of survivors of human trafficing. iii. Working with universities and other organisations to instruct and support research into human trafficking, iv. Campaigning for the enhancement of human trafficking legislation, and v. Providing direct support, financial or otherwise, to the survivors of human trafficking. and (b) to promote such similar charitable purposes, objects or institutions in such proportions and manner as the Trustees shall think fit.
