Constitutional objectives
4. Visiting Friends SCIO has been formed to benefit the people of Helensburgh in particular (and the three electoral wards of Helensburgh and Lomond as a whole) (“the Community”), with the purposes listed in the sub-clauses hereto (“the Purposes”), to be exercised following the principles of sustainable development (where sustainable development means development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs). In accordance with the Charities and Trustee Investment Act 2005 the aims of the organisation are to: 4.1. Reduce social isolation and loneliness in adults (charitable purposes ‘d’ the advancement of health and ‘n’ the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage) 4.2. Raise awareness and involvement of the community in matters relating to social isolation and loneliness, and encourage social inclusion. (charitable purpose ‘f’ the advancement of citizenship)
