What the charity exists to do
Our charity is a non profit distributing charity who's principal objectives are outlined in Q1 above. Our main vehicle to deliver the charity's aims and objectives is our running section - Larkhall YMCA Harriers.

Constitutional objectives
The Association will operate as a non-profit distributing charity whose principal objectives are: (a) The advancement of education. (b) The advancement of citizenship or community development. (c) The advancement of public participation in sport. (d) The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. In furtherance of the above the association shall: (i) promote events by which the aims, purposes and programmes may be furthered as listed in Appendix A (page 23) attached (taken from Appendix C of the Constitution of YMCA SCOTLAND as amended from time to time). and (ii) work towards the achievement of the World YMCA goals as stated in Challenge 21 statement of purpose. (Germany 1998), stating that the YMCA is a world-wide Christian, ecumenical, voluntary movement for women and men with special emphasis on and the genuine involvement of young people and that it seeks to share the Christian ideal of building a human community of justice with love, peace and reconciliation for the fullness of life for all creation
