02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

4.1 To advance education and the Arts, and to provide, or assist, in the provision of facilities, including a theatre space, for recreation, performances or other leisure time occupation, where such provision or assistance in provision- 4.1.1 is in the interests of Social Welfare 4.1.2 is made with the object of improving the conditions of life of the members of the community primarily but not exclusively in the area of benefit, which is defined as that part of the Royal Mail postcode area of EH11 (as at 1st April 2017) which lies to the east of Saughton Road North in Edinburgh, and also the area north of the main Edinburgh and Glasgow railway line which is bounded by, and including, the Water of Leith to Roseburn Terrace, Roseburn Terrace, West Coates, Haymarket Terrace and Clifton Terrace as far as Haymarket Railway Station.
