02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

the object of the charity is to benefit the welfare of the animals in our care, to maintain and improve the premises, to provide an appropriate environment, obtaining professional care when required. There has been no change of trustees or members, however an amendment has been added to the Governing Document outlining the process of appointing a new trustee. Th charity's main activities revolve around fundraising, running events, seeking grants for specific projects and the continued welfare of the animals. The day to day running of The Ark is undertaken by the founder/manager Alison Shankly assisted by various volunteers, Alison also runs the website regularly updates the Facebook page.

Constitutional objectives

The Organisation has been formed to benefit the community of friends and supporters of Clark's Little Ark, a Community of Interest (the 'Community'), with the following purposes (the 'Purposes'): The advancement of animal welfare. (i) The five freedoms are continually met for all animals at the ARK. (ii) To maintain and improve the physical premises to maintain the animals in a strong and appropriate environment. (iii) To provide for the protection of the animals kept, from ill health, damage, or loss by providing skilled care and obtaining professional services when necessary
