What the charity exists to do

The constitutional aims of RSCDS Youth Branch are: • To encourage youth membership. • To develop a communication vehicle specific to age group. • To be worldwide, flexible and not location-based. • To increase the influence of Youth within the society. • To give young dancers an increased sense of identity and community. • To be represented at AGM by delegates. • To identify potential members for the Youth Services Committee (YSC) and other society committees. RSCDS Youth Branch performs these aims by operating Scottish country dance events for young dancers, writing travel grants to members, and otherwise creating opportunities for community connection.

Constitutional objectives

The charitable objectives of the YB will be: To advance education, particularly in the field of Scottish Country Dancing and related activities To advance arts, heritage and culture, particularly related to Scottish traditional activities To organise recreational activities, which can improve conditions of life through social engagement and physical and mental wellbeing The YB will undertake to achieve these charitable objectives through the following means: To encourage youth membership. To develop a communication vehicle specific to age group. To be worldwide, flexible and not location-based. To increase influence of Youth within the society To give young dancers an increased sense of identity and community. To be represented at AGM by delegates. To identify potential members for the Youth Services Committee (YSC) and other society committees.
