02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity supports our Armed Forces, Military Families, Veterans, Tri-Cadet Forces, community groups, schools and communities. We organise Armed Forces Days, events, we fundraise, we create memorials, leaving a legacy, we engage with schools across Scotland, visit and present military displays in schools and communities.

Constitutional objectives

The objectives of the Charity shall be: To encourage and support the study/research of the historical findings derived from the events preceding, surrounding and following WW1, WW2 and all subsequent Wars and Conflicts, and to promote the benefit of the participants of the Ancre Somme Association Scotland Charity area/s and its environs of/in United Kingdom (hereinafter called the 'area of benefit') without distinction of age, gender, or religious opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, voluntary and community sector organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education. (2.1) to maintain and manage [or co-operate with any local authority in the maintenance of] a premises or centre or centres
