02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
Cumbernauld Baptist Church is a group of people of all ages from various cultures and backgrounds. We are a family-friendly church who aim to provide a warm atmosphere where people feel welcome and valued. Our purposes are the advancement of Christian faith through worship, prayer and Bible teaching and reaching out to people in our local community to share God's love, our friendship and practical support where needed. We provide recreational opportunities through our church activities and provide accommodation to community groups for their activities and meetings. Our charity seeks to help in the prevention and relief of poverty by supporting local food banks and charities. We are currently planning to open our church building to provide a warm space and lunch for people in our community. We contribute to charity appeals made on behalf of countries facing poverty and regularly contribute financially to the Baptist Missionary Society and to Blythswood Care Appeals.
