02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
To further our main charitable purpose we provide short term accommodation for women (including non-binary persons) with no recourse to public funds (NRPF) in spaces includes our dedicated shelter. Further we are a specialist 'by and for' service run by the beneficiaries of the service and who have lived/living NRPF experience. To achieve our objectives we provide trauma informed holistic wrap around care which includes access to a minimum of six sessions with our in -house specialist trauma counsellor, immigration lawyers, GP services, clothing, toiletries and culturally appropriate food. We also provide weekly 'cost of living' grants for our guests until such time as they regain/resume access to Home Office support and travel expenses. In addition to our accommodation services, we run a busy office for our 'Recovery as Reparations' group interventions managed by beneficiaries - who have since been granted refugee status and have a right to work.
