02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

Our Charity was Set up in 1965 by Hamish MacInnes to train search dogs to assist with locating people in remote and mountainous areas. We continue to train Search Dogs for use primarily in Scottish Mountain Rescue, but also assist Police Scotland in searches for vulnerable persons. We have training weekends monthly to facilitate this training and assess standards of Dog Teams to ensure they meet the required standard. We have annual assessments to ensure new dog teams meet the required standards.
