02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The club has 4 key priorities: i) Supporting the paddler ii) Providing equipment & storage iii) Maintaining a well-run club iv) Ensuring the safety & wellbeing of all members. Club activities are the key way the club achieves its charitable goals. Each paddlesport discipline provides a programme of paddling activities at different levels to cater for the skills, abilities and interests of members. The club also provides at least one annual multi-craft introductory course. Skill development underpins safe and enjoyable paddlesport for all, while encouraging shared responsibility on the water is important in creating self-reliant paddlers. To facilitate skill development the club promotes individual development, making good use of Paddle UK qualifications to structure training and act as milestones. The club also organises a range of training courses run by our voluntary coaches, supplemented by external coaches on a paid basis where applicable.
