02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
AberNecessities provides disadvantaged families with the essentials and basic necessities that No Child Should Go Without. From maternity bundles for new mothers and babies to clothing, nappies, toys and equipment for children aged 0–18, our work focuses on providing the practical items every child needs, alongside small comforts that bring confidence, reassurance and moments of joy to families when they need it most. We work on a referral basis with a network of professionals across the NHS, education, social work and fellow third-sector organisations. Every referral we receive is handled with care and compassion, ensuring that each child receives support that feels thoughtful, personal and delivered with dignity.
