02 Purpose and work

What the charity exists to do

The charity is set up to provide a venue for the promotion, learning and teaching of Mind Sports. This is mainly the game of Bridge but also Chess and Scrabble groups. We provide We provide multiple opportunities during the week for people to participate[ate in the charities activities. Research has shown that playing bridge brings benefits to the participants in the form of the game having a competitive element, facilitating socialising with friends, and – most commonly – being mentally stimulating and deriving enjoyment from the activity.

Constitutional objectives

The Organisation’s purposes are: 5.1. the promotion and organisation of recreational facilities for the public at large which relate to the promotion, learning, teaching and playing of bridge.to educate players of all standards in the game of bridge and to assist in their development and understanding of the game. 5.2. to provide facilities for, and to encourage, junior players between the ages of 10 and 25 to take up the game of bridge. and 5.3. to improve the social welfare of persons using the facilities or participating in the activities organised by the organisation.
