02 Purpose and work
What the charity exists to do
The charity was set up to organise recreational cricket in the North East of Scotland and to promote and develop the game in that area. We arrange and administer league, cup and other cricket competitions and events by liaising with member clubs and booking access to grounds with venue providers. We have identified and developed additional suitable playing and training facilities. We support the development of new and existing clubs that promote cricket locally. We support the recruitment and development of players, coaches, match officials and other volunteers. We have run umpiring and scoring courses. We have facilitated coaching courses to encourage both newcomers and existing players to pass on their knowledge. We promote the development of junior cricket, women's cricket and cricket for those with disabilities in alliance with national bodies. We aim to continue this work in what we consider to be the most inclusive of sports.
